Aiko Melendez was sued by his former boyfriend Mayor Meneses of Bulacan. Mayor Patrick Menezes sued Melendez for libel on the ground that Melendez was behind the proliferation of reports that questions Menezes sexuality. Another case was also filed against Aiko Melendez by another Mayor of Pandi Bulacan, Enrico Roque for defamation which started on message exchanges on twitter.
OMG! That's two libel cases against Aiko Melendez. I never thought would be invoved in a libel suit. Anyway, it's there so maybe there is enough evidence that convinced Mayor Menezes that Aiko was behind the proliferation of the rumor that questions his sexuality.
I think mayor Menezes did the right thing. One should stand up once there are rumors like this againts him especially when one is a public figure. Rumors that question your manhood is the biggest insult a real man can have. I was once a victim of this rumor and I also stood up and confronted the person who proliferated it. This is serious. People in your area would ridicule and disrespect you just for a baseless allegation. This is not good especially when you are an honorable politician.
