Willie Revillame is in deep mess nowadays because the DSWD has filed a child abuse against him. The DSWD said that Revillame violated the Republic Act No. 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act after the incident on March 12, 2011 in which Revillame asked a 6-year-old boy to do a macho dance. The boy did the macho dance while crying. This incident sparked a heated debate all over the Philippines, in blogs, forums, newspapers and television.
This is a great move by DSWD. Willie Revillame have crossed the line a lot of times and this time he should be taught a harder lesson. Especially at this point that the victim is a child. Our society should be intolerant to any form of child abuse. There are so many children in the Philippines that are being abused and the case of Willie Revillame must be used to send a message that the DSWD and the government do not tolerate abuse of children.
