Catheter Scandal

There was a report that a hospital in the Philippines let the hospital guard insert the catheter to a patient. This became controversial because the patient suffered an infection which was attributed to the wrong person who inserted the catheter.

Well, this report sounds unbelievable. Maybe the guard gave some little assistance in inserting the catheter. Why would the guard do it himself when there were nurses, medtech and other health professionals around. I believe that this was just another media hype.
